Wet and Wild

Okay so before we go anywhere with this post, let us address this name . . .
Now I am aware there are those who may find this brand's name odd; however I actually do not mind it. Sure it does put one in the mindset of bad 80s pseudo suggestive almost porno things but once you move past the name, this brand is the best thing to hit your local Clicks in the longest while. 

Now if you are budget minded stylista, then this brand will blast your brain! They have everything the high end brands have at prices that will make you smile!!  Plus for all the bunny huggers; this brand is cruelty free and will not test on your fuzzy friends.You want to try out contour, using primer, matte lips; any beauty trend basically and this brand has your back!  I have my international blogger sheroes and (pause as I respectfully fan-girl)  they all rave about the Wet and Wild Mega Last Matte Lipsticks and so when I spotted them at Clicks, I was grabbing them up like a defeated Atkins dieter at a bread counter. 

In the most interesting side note . . . These lippies are selling out!! I mean faster than a bunch of virgins at a Chris Brown Concert! So imagine my surprise when I discovered a fully stocked counter in the wilds of Newcastle!!  So got a few colors for myself and by a few I mean 6 and I adore them! I am completely devoted and enslaved! My IG feed has been full of these lipsticks. I  love it when lippies last all day, through my meals and meetings and these will go the distance! The color pigmentation is off the charts! These are dark and true! I loved them all and can not wait to get more! 

Thankfully because we here in South Africa are a diverse bunch, these come in a mind bending array of colours. If nude lips are your thing, a wide variety of nudes are available but if you love a strong lip; then this line will rock your world! Bright pop pinks, strong statement reds, deep matte purples and trendy brown shades are all encompassed! The shades go on true, from the tube to the lip and you do not need to layer on color to get the promised shade.  As much as i love liquid lipstick, it is sometimes unwieldy to apply and correcting can leave you looking like a clown camp refugee. These apply like a dream and are easy even for a make-up beginner. Check out the colors I have swatched below! Those are just one single wipe from the tube! When these people called it Mega Last, they were not simply using marketing hyperbole! 
Many others here in the wilds of the internet claim that this range has many dupes for MAC lipsticks. I can't venture to say how far this is true, my MAC purchases are few and limited to holy grail items that I positively can not buy else where. However I can attest to looking far and wide for a lipstick to try and ape that matte lip color seen on many IG goddesses, I had read every product breakdown that pointed to Twig by MAC or Lollita by Kat Von D with sadness because these products cost the world!! Upon swatching and trying this Mega Last Lipstick range, I found many true shade matches to these coveted colors. When comparing texture and lasting power, I must say that these equal and in some cases outlast MAC colors and for a pittance too! I will take that bargain any day!! 

Such a strong color does require careful application so make sure to use a lip liner to define your lip shape and then fill in carefully. If you are careful and want a day long lasting application, remember apply, blot then reapply.  Nothing will move this lipstick. Well in all honesty, it did not pass a make-out test, mainly because I have no one to test this factor on!  The only downside I found with this lipstick is: it is so strong on the staying power, you may battle to get it off! I would recommend applying some li pbalm, letting it sit for a bit before wiping off with the corner of a good old fashioned face cloth! This should remove all remnants of your Mega Last Lipstick and moisturize your lips at the same time!

The cost factor is only R44.75 per tube! I don't know how they do it but there you go! That is the price and it is shocking considering the quality and quantity of the lipstick you get for it. Lipstick is one of those beauty items that can instantly change a look, consider the power of a red lip or the nude appeal of the 'Kylie' lip. Get to your local Clicks and play! Yardley Liquid Matte Lip Vinyl

We begin, so I know this journey started ages ago but beautiful ones, life happened to me. And by life I mean work. Not that I stopped shopping of course; never that! Stopped breathing and making bacon but never shopping. So recently I found a product so gobsmakingly good and so ding dang awesome it actually just delighted me. More than dark chocolate delight, in fact close to my crush liking me back delight. In that this product was cheap as chips and I already thought it was highly unlikely to work but unlike my sad love life this product decided to be amaze balls.                                                                        

So the product in question comes from a brand I had long written off as outdated and non relevant. Now if you like me keep an eye on international blogging and instagram sisters you would have noticed this flood of matte liquid lipsticks. (Whether you can call them sticks?!) Now Lime crime and Anastasia Beverly Hills  are great if you live in foreign climes or have loads of mega moolah to bankroll online sprees. They go on super precise and leave deep true color without making your lips feel all cracked dry and flakes.

I had about dispaired of ever finding any in my local drugstore; forgive the Americanism but I do mean the affordable beauty brands you can normally buy at clicks and the like. So imagine my surprise when I saw liquid lippy  at the Yardley display of all places. I was skeptical to say the least, but they were 99 rand and I had a little extra this month. I got one in the shade: Femme Fatale. In the picture I am wearing it after a long day of eating, drinking my usual jet fuel coffee and talking tonnes but there it is still on a mission on my lips.

Dear beautiful people this Yardley Liquid Matte Lip Vinyl is magical! The applicator tip is small and precise enough to make application a breeze. The only teeny tiny little down side is that it feels slightly tacky on the lip but for daily lipstick users it is nothing we are not used to! It applies with liquid precision and then dries down to a matte finish that lasts all day. I can not wait to try the red and a certain shade that reminds me of a certain famous little sister. I will be sure to swatch them too! So if like me you are looking for a long last lippy that is matte, give this a try!

If I had five mandelas for everytime I heard a guy say I love a woman with a natural look, I would be rich enough to shop at Stuttafords . . . Daily . . .and still have lunch at the Oyster Box before driving off in my Ferarri!

Yup, once things for sure when it pertains to the subject of beauty men dont know very much! Surveys have proven they like and look for: glossy pinky mouths, long eyelashes and smoky eyes. Now if you have this when you wake up in the morning, please stop reading my blog now! This blog is not for you! this blog is for the girls who like me, wake up with crazy hair, looking like an discombobulated owl! Those of us who need a little help to look our bestest!

And who dont want to pay a huge of  change to achieve that look! I am shocked when I see blogs that feature products at R500 and upwards! I fI blow that on my eyeliner, I might as well give up, since I then will not have any money to spend going out to show off said eye liner. So hence this blog!
